ONTARIO, OH - One individual was transported after a two-vehicle accident occurred on U.S. 30 near the Lewis Road Bridge just before 7 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Both vehicles were headed westbound at the time of the crash. According to chatter from crews on-scene, one person in a Chevy rear-ended the Buick it was following, causing the Chevy to catch fire. The Chevy apparently tried to flee the scene, turning around in the median and causing several other small fires before losing control, resulting in the car overturning onto its roof.

The driver of the Chevy was transported to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital with unknown injuries. The owner of the Buick suffered minor injuries and refused transport, according to scanner traffic.

US-30 was closed due to the accident but has since reopened to traffic in both directions.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. WMFD will provide more details as they become available.
